How the onboarding works

Starting a new job can be overwhelming. New faces, tools, processes, and a million things to learn.

We've designed our onboarding experience to be smooth, welcoming, and empowering from day one. Here's what new hires can expect when they join us.

1. Offer accepted

As soon as a candidate accepts their offer, we move quickly to get everything in place. We will invite them to a shared Slack channel so we can communicate easily and keep all onboarding items in one place.

We order their laptop and start preparing their digital environment. Using Rippling, we create their employee profile and handle all necessary documentation to ensure everything is compliant and ready to go.

2. Your new email and tools

We create the new team member's email address using the format:

firstname@resend.com

Unless your first name is already taken, so then we use:

firstname.lastname@resend.com

From there, we begin inviting them to the tools and platforms we use daily. (Spoiler: there are quite a few!)

This includes everything from internal communication tools to project management systems and team-specific applications.

3. Your credit card

Right after joining, every new employee receives a Brex card with a $2,000 remote office allowance.

This budget can be used to purchase anything work-related that improves your setup, such as monitors, desks, office chairs, or accessories to help you feel comfortable and productive from home. If your remote office is ready to go, you can use this budget at any time to replace equipment or would like something new to add.

4. The first day

On their first day, new hires have a few welcome meetings with their manager and onboarding buddy.

We also host a session with Operations to walk them through their first week agenda, benefits, and confirm all systems access is a go.

5. The first week

Every new team member writes a short post to be published on the Resend blog.

It's a great way to introduce themselves to the team, the broader community, and share a bit about their journey.

At the same time, we finalize all administrative details: confirming stock option agreements, benefits enrollment, and ensuring all systems are fully set up.

Our new team members will have plenty of time to configure their system and tool preferences, meet new faces and dive into the Resend product.

6. Ready to go

By the end of the first week, our goal is to make sure every new hire feels informed, connected, and ready to hit the ground running.

We're here every step of the way, but we also trust and empower our people to take ownership of their journey.
